a white thanksgiving

We woke up Thanksgiving morning to a blanket of snow.  On that morning I was thankful for the snow because I had no where to go.

ps.  try not to be jealous of our snow gear.  The things we find in Grandma's closet are amazing.  Remember these (click here)??

a different view

Miss Mac is meant to be in the office.  But there isn't a wood stove in the office and, as you can see outside, there is snow on the ground, which means it's cold.  20 degrees cold.  My hands literally feel like they are going to fall off after sitting in the office for awhile, so miss Mac has a new home on the kitchen table.  It's temporary but I like it.  I like it so much I decided to blog about it.  Lucky you guys. :)  I feel like a part of the family now and my fingers are nice and warm.

In other news...  we had a crazy wind storm last night.  I'm not a fan of the wind.  It's really not my favorite.  It's loud and scary and makes things bump against the windows and makes big things called trees fall down.  Sean was called out on power outages starting at 5:30pm and he didn't get home until 5:30am!!  He's my hero.  I can't even imagine working outside in that cold, windy weather.  I barely can make it out to the garage to get a piece of wood and bring it back... brrrrr....  When I saw Sean this morning I told him I didn't sleep a wink last night, and he responded by saying "I know exactly how you feel." :)

Stay warm, friends and Happy Thanksgiving if I don't talk to you sooner.

the reason for all the quiet

8 out of 9 seniors (one isn't posted; I didn't get permission).  Cute girls, huh?
5 family sessions (seen here) plus 3 more to come and
2 maternity sessions; all in just 1 1/2 short months.
I've been busy.  You should see my house.

But I did get a new toy and she makes all this work a little nicer.  Me and her are getting along real good.

more harvest'ness

The pirate

She wanted to look like Jack Sparrow.  I told her she looked better.

Captain Rex

I bet you don't know who that is.  I didn't either.  He's a Star Wars guy and I guess he looks like this.

Hola!  I'm Dora

Dora really has some sweet, bouncy hair.  Ava loved it.

Who could turn down candy to them?  Apparently nobody could.  You should see the stash of candy we have sitting in this house.  It's doing nothing for my figure I tell you.  Nothing.

The carving of pumpkins...

We carved these babies yesterday.  That's just how it is at this house right now.  We're a little behind.  For one, I couldn't find any pumpkins on this island so we had to special order some from the grandparents who happened to be off-island.  We really should go into contests for pumpkin carvers.  I have a feeling we'd win. ;)  Ha!   While outside carving, cars were driving by on the driveway and then Stella says, "mom those people driving by are probably saying to themselves  - 'Don't those people know Halloween is over??!!  Those poor people, carving pumpkins on the wrong day'."  I laughed.  I like that Stella girl of mine.

I hope you all had a happy Harvest!
