Ava has the pleasure of being Stella and
Jonah's audience - lucky girl!

A couple nights ago I headed upstairs to get the kids ready for bed. I went in to the bathroom and saw gobs of doll hair in the garbage.
mom - "Stella what is this?"
Stella - "I don't know how that got there mom."
I then went into Stella's room and saw a pair of scissors laying on the floor along with 6 barbies sportin' a new do.
mom - "who cut the barbies hair?"
Stella - "Jonah did"
Jonah - "Stella did"
OK so now it's getting serious, not only have we cut the dolls hair but now we're lying which is far worse then any barbie getting a hair cut. After going back and forth between "Stella did, Jonah did" I saw the remorse on Stella's face and the tears started to fall. She knows she's in trouble, and now it's not because of the barbies it's because she lied. I praise our good Lord that Stella has a tender heart because after she was disciplined you knew she was sorry (she even told us she needed a bowl by her bed because she felt sick). I told her I could care less about her barbies (I mean lets face it, we've all wanted to cut their hair right??), but that I am more concerned about her heart and the fact she felt she needed to lie. I told her it hurts Jesus' heart the most when His children lie. She then told me she should have went to Sunday School last week (she missed because she's been sick). Amen to that, we do need to stay close to Jesus and go to church to learn more about Him. It's just like the verse she learned at soccer camp this summer, Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." We're sinners, we sin daily, we need Jesus. I can only pray that Stella will learn from this and the next time she'll choose to do the right thing and confess right away instead of lying and casting the blame. This whole ordeal showed me that much more how we need to be on our knees before the Lord lifting our children up to Him, and asking for wisdom in raising them to be godly men and women.
The next afternoon...
mom - "So Stella how do the barbies work with their new hair cuts?"
Stella - "Oh mom, they are SO great!!"
