Last Friday Stella had a class field trip to 4th of July beach. The weather was perfect, the tide was out, and they had yummy snacks. It was a fun day. Here she is with her "best friend" Rachel.
Did I mention we have the greatest neighbors? Well we do. My dad spent some more time the other day smoothing things out. If I had a penny for every rock that is on our property, I'd be the richest girl in the world. I told Sean we need to get a machine that picks up rocks and leaves the dirt. He looked at me and said, "then we'd have nothing left." I think he's right.

Ava, watching her Grandpa, brother and sister on the tractor. Don't worry, she didn't feel left out. What you don't see in the picture is the bowl of snacks she has sitting on her lap. She was perfectly content right where she was at.
We got ourselves some future bike riders. They're not there yet, but they are getting close. We've been practicing at Grandma and Grandpa's because they have nice, smooth roads. I'm pretty sure you can imagine what our road is like...it's rough, you're right. Rough and dusty. The kids come in from outside with brown feet and brown faces and no, it's not from the sun.
Jonah dressed himself. These are the shorts of choice. They're size 24 months. I try to tell him they are too small, but he'll have none of that. They're his favorite soccer shorts. I guess he's got a good point, soccer players do wear short shorts.
Ava couldn't ride the bikes, so she ran behind them instead.
She cheered Stella and Jonah on with Grandma too.
Then she talked Grandma in to taking her to the pond to feed the fish.

Then she worked her magic and got Grandpa to let her drive the tractor.

Monday night we had a night out on the town as a family. Sean, being the greatest Sunday school teacher that he is, earned a gift card to a local restaurant for all his hard work. We had a yummy dinner at Downriggers and then walked down the street to get some ice cream. The flavors chosen included, bubble gum, birthday cake and my personal favorite, mint chip.
Stella had bubble gum. She was saving each piece on her napkin to chew after she was done with her cone. Unfortunately the gum fell off the napkin before she had the chance to enjoy it. She didn't care, she still had one piece left in the cone.
Ava likes ice cream. She shared with all of us.

Some tourist was nice enough to take our picture. It was a fun evening.

I gave my baby a bath in the sink the other night. I took all of her clothes off while I was getting the sink ready. Then I saw her splashing around in some "water" that was on the floor. I quickly figured out it wasn't water, it was pee. Before I could stop her, she was doing a little splash-splash on the floor and then a little rub-rub all over her face. And here I thought she needed a bath because of her brown feet. Babies, if only they knew that splashing in pee and toilets isn't a good thing.

I was taking these pictures in manual mode. I'm a wanna-be photographer. These black and whites have a lot of noise (as I have learned to call it). I could blame it on the lighting and the fact that I was staying away from using a flash...but I'll be honest, it's my fault, I have no idea what I'm doing. Don't worry friends, I'll be keeping my day job.

I feel like I just read "A Day in the Life Of..." I loved it!!! those kids are so stinking cute! And I think if it were up to Todd and he could drag me away from year-round warm weather, we would definitely be your neighbors!! :)
So cute! I love all the pictures. I was cracking up about the short shorts, he can pull it off because he's so cute! :) Looks like you guys are definitely enjoying the weather.
I really enjoyed seeing all the latest Parson family happenings! Ava is a little charmer and I really like seeing her hanging out with her grandparents. The family picture of all of you is perfect!
Looks like your summer is off to a good start! I was cracking up at Jonah's shorts...that is so cute! I think your manual pictures look great...keep it up!!
How cute!!! The pic's are GREAT! You seriously should have your own magazine. ;) Maybe you can come with us on our family vacation and take pic's of us!! :)
Jonas' shorts are too cute!
You guys are just the cutest family ever. Love all the pics...Love all the fun and adventures you have... just love it all... thanks for sharing!!
Can you please come to Yakima and take pics of my kids!!???? You are SOOO good! Better yet, maybe I'll cross the mountains and Sound one of these days...I heart Friday Harbor!
I love the updates Sara & I really miss Friday Harbor & seeing all those boats. Not sure when we will be up next but hopefully soon. I would love to see you guys & meet the kids.
What great pic's of everyone & all your smiling ice cream faces. I really love the pic's of Ava in the sink. How cool that you can still put her in one and YES, I think the B&W pic's turned out really good especially the one with the water running.
First, judging by how far Stella comes up on you in the family pic, I have a strong suspicion that she may be just about the same height as Israel. Yikes!
Second, noise or no noise, the kitchen sink pictures are priceless and the pee story is equally priceless, but in a different and horrifying kind of a way. Reminds me of the time Kaylee ate frosting leftover from a wedding cake. That was in the trashcan. And had been there since the night before. Or when Maya got herself a cup and scooped a drink of fresh water out of the fish tank. At least pee is sterile, huh?
Are you kidding me!! You are such a good picture taker!! But you wouldn't want to quit your day job because being a mommy is the best right? (: I know it is a figure of speech but man you are good Sara! I love the pics of Ava in the sink and I just love that you both made a necklace for Stella's teacher, so cute!! I will ball my head off when Drew goes to school, he already talks about it and he isn't even 3 yet!! What in the world??!! I told him today, well sweetie you still have 3 years, so not for a while! He said "Ok" he doesn't even know how long 3 years is, he is just happy that I have stopped telling him he is staying home with me (: miss you Sara
Oh Sara- I LOVE those pictures :) good for you shooting on manual mode. It's a bit daunting, but the more you do it, the more you understand the changing light. And honestly- a very good photographer "professional" friend of mine said the other day- "I'm really just a wanna be". Made me think.
I love Jonah's shorts- MIkey does the same thing, but they're always a pair of NIKE basketball shorts.
Did I tell you- you guys make beautiful little girls- you should go for 1 more ;) wink-wink.
Okay a couple orders of business:
1. I will never get tired of telling you how much I love your pictures. When I have babies can you come take their pictures? Because you do it so well.
2. The kids are huge. All of them. How long have I been your blogger buddy? Not that long, and they already look ten times bigger than when I first visited you.
3. Your jacket and bag are adorable. Where o Where did you find them? Because I love your style and would love to copy it. Just bein' honest. We're miles apart so no one will see us in the same outfit, right?
4. Now having seen a picture of your Momma I know where you get your gorgeousness from. She is beautiful.
That's all for now. Keep the pictures comin' sister cause I am lovin em!
